Altered Landscape by Lee Mckenna
Adding to the ‘Altered Landscape’ series started in 2020, these 6 new handcut collages are an extension of this ongoing theme. Traditional images of beautiful landscapes and vistas are interrupted by the addition of seemingly discordant elements – bringing a sense of contradiction. The Altered Landscape works first began at the start of Covid when the world was rapidly shifting and changing. It reveals itself as a statement of a disrupted environment.
Lee McKenna is a New Zealand artist who lives in Melbourne, Australia. Her love of old papers manifests predominantly with a focus on collage, but her work often incorporates other media – paint, screenprint, monotype, and various forms of mark making.
